+ How do I know I am getting the best advice?
We are registered with the Office of Fair Trading under the Consumer Credit Act 1974. All TaxDebts staff are trained to the highest industry standards. We have many years’ experience of debt management in general, and also specialise in the specific area of tax administration. Our advisors are familiar with the law and practice relating to tax debts. We are skilled and experienced in dealing with HMRC on behalf of clients with tax arrears. We offer a Code of Conduct to HMRC, as to the high professional standards within which we operate. This is intended to assure HMRC as to the standard of service they can expect in negotiations with TaxDebts on behalf of our clients. We also adhere to all aspects of the data protection act to ensure client confidentiality.
+ What if I am unable to keep up with my payment?
As a set standard we will review your file on a three monthly basis. When agreeing your monthly payment we ensure it is affordable for you based on your Gross Disposable Income. If your circumstances change and you experience a drop in your income we will review your file, and if your circumstances change for the better we can increase your payments clearing your outstanding credit sooner.
+ Could I do this myself?
Many people find managing their debts difficult; anyone can approach their creditors and discuss options directly, however, tax is a priority debt and is the basis of our economy and it must be treated as such. It is not always calculated in a straight forward manner, however, we all end up having to pay it and sometimes this is not feasible straight away, owing to financial difficulties.
